Fun Weekend at Everything Scrapbook & Stamps

I’m so behind on my blogging but I just had to take a few minutes to tell you about my wonderful experience last weekend at “Everything Scrapbook & Stamps” in Lake Worth, Florida.

Michelle McCosh is the proprietor of ESS and wears many hats:  artist in residence, teacher, manager, mentor and den mother; just to name a few.  From the moment I walked in, I could tell that she loved not only her store, but also has so much adoration for her customers.  They are like family.

The store is full of lovely displays and eye candy.  You can’t help but be inspired when you walk into the door and feast on all of the artsy goodness!

Here’s a peek at some of the workshop photos – I wish you could hear the laughter and banter going back and forth throughout the day!

To further enhance my experience, so many of the ladies in my classes were also members of The Documented Life Project!  We didn’t get a group DLP picture (what was I thinking?) but I did manage to get some of our books piled up together.  I was thrilled to spend the weekend with such a lively, animated group of women.  I came as a stranger and felt like I left as a friend!

I hope if you are ever in the area, you will stop by Everything Scrapbook & Stamps – we are so fortunate to still have a few places like this in Florida!  And let’s support all of our independent retailers everywhere. . . it’s so much more gratifying to have the personal experience of shopping at stores like this than it is to simply click a button on our computer to buy something!

So agree that we need to support our local stores whatever they sell. Sadly my local craft store has moved away from art/stamp supplies & mainly concentrates on patchwork/knitting/cross stitch/beading but even then it really only dabbles with the range of supplies. There is little wonder we resort to using the internet or shopping whenever we see stuff we might NEED!

It’s true Sally – the whole industry is changing! I try to buy in person whenever I can – don’t want to lose our precious retailers!
