This week’s sketches are for the birds!
For my Every Day Matters Sketchbook, I use the Global Arts Square Notebook – just a little 6″x6″ I can carry around with me and my beloved Pitt Pens by Faber Castell. I don’t typically draw in pencil first – I go straight for the ink and embrace my mistakes! For my watercolors, I use the Schmincke Horadam Watercolor Set but you don’t have to go right for the pricey ones at first. The Sakura Koi Watercolor Set is the perfect size to carry around and is not a huge investment. Plus it has purple which most sets don’t, so that’s always a good thing!

Clicked the like button but wish they had an ADORE button! Someday you should make a trip to Gainesville and go through the Butterfly Garden. It is amazing with so many beautiful butterflies that land on you and your camera. Park benches abound to sit and take in all its glory AND they have several types of tiny birds that are seed eaters that flit around and would be a fun project to sketch. What is better than butterflies and birds? Well lots but they are among the best. Your sketch book looks like so much fun.
Thank you so much Mary – and I have heard of the butterfly garden but haven’t been yet! Hmmmm, butterflies! That’s a good idea for another week!
