Art Challenge: Painted
Journal Prompt:  How do I face my biggest challenge?

Welcome to Week 33!

Since this week is about PAINT  – it was a no-brainer for me.  Fluorescents all the way.  I grabbed a piece of underpaper, which is the newsprint I put on top of my studio table to catch all the spills and overpainting.  As you can see, my underpaper has been well loved! I used gel medium to glue a piece to my journal for an instant background!

Thinking about this week and my biggest challenges . . . hmmmmmm . . . that was easy.  I have so many balls in the air right now that the things I am juggling are starting to slip and fall!  Too much to handle, for sure. So that thought inspired me to draw my figure this week imitating how I feel right now.  I used a Stabilo pencil to quickly sketch my figure. Notice in the picture below, she has a little smile.

Next, I reached for my YUMMY fluorescent Golden Paints and my AWESOME Montana Acrylic paint pens and got to work.  It took me a long time, because I really like playing with these paints.  Oh the colors . . . I could eat them for dessert!

So here’s what I ended up with – please notice the look on her face NOW!  Yep, this is exactly how I feel!  I hope you all are having a better week – and as always, I look so forward to your challenges! You are pretty lucky, because we have the most divine Mystele Kirkeeng as our featured artist this week!!!  I can’t wait!!!

Too many balls in the air made a fun page that many can relate to. I really thought that using the neon colors over the under paper is a wonderful way to "stand out" in the crowd for this little juggler. I bet it was fun looking at your fingers when you were done, also. Thanks for the post even when your plate is full. That is the most fun about the Art to the 5th – several takes on same issue and all done for us to enjoy and be inspired by! Thank you so much.
