Week 18 – Add an Inspiring Quote to Guide Your Week

I spent all week trying to find a profound and inspirational quote to share in this challenge.  I have a Pinterest Board, a book and a file on my computer full of quotes that I love.  Nothing seemed to move me this week and then I realized I have been taking myself waaaay too seriously lately!  I really need to ‘lighten up’ a bit.  I stumbled upon this quote and knew I had found exactly what I was looking for.  I needed to be the fruit loop!

I started with a piece of newsprint that I used as an under paper for a previous project.  The colors reminded me of fruit loops!  I outlined a section of the paper to fit into my planner and began to sketch and write out my quote.  I used my new AWESOME Montana Acrylic Markers to do the lettering and painted the rest in with watercolors.  Now this quote really speaks to my life right now . . . “Be a fruit loop in a world of Cheerios!” (unknown author).  I need to remember to be my unique, authentic self and not to try to be like anyone else!

Hope you enjoyed the challenge – I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful quotes!  Don’t forget to check out the other Art to the 5th Blogs . . .

  1. Sweet Red Clover

As soon as I saw the picture on the A5 blog, I knew what the quote was! …I love it and the message behind it so much! I really like the way the under paper comes through on the bowl…I have a huge crush on dishes (one of my secret old lady-esque obsessions…) and I wish I could find one just like yours…too awesome! <3<3<3

OMG Lorraine, this is the greatest page and quote. I just love everything about it! Wonderful!

What a great page! I love cheerios and convinced myself I was being healthy by eating them without sugar (every night before bed) LOL. So after reading your quote, I am going to sprinkle on top some fruit loops because I love the color and "happy" they provide me – for sweet dreams. Your underpaper is gorgeous!
